rainy day sewing

Awakened to much rain this Saturday morning, and from what "they say", it will be an incessant rain throughout the day. Ivy will turn three next month, so today appears to be an excellent day for spending time in my sewing room and concentrating on completing the quietly engaged book I began for her back in the summer.

After one brief breach of focus to straighten the closet, I regained my momentum and spent several happy hours sewing until the already cloudy, dark day inched into even greater darkness outside my window and "hungry calls" were heard downstairs. I knew it was time to stop and begin supper.

“I am reminded that every day I have the chance to pick up a needle and some thread and add to the story. To stitch together something beautiful and unique, to patch a small scrap of fabric to the story..."

new to your blog via Gretchen Joanna's blog. what a lovely sewing space you have!!! and a fun project! I don't have a dedicated sewing space but hope to, one day. I am working on a quilt (began in 2015) and hope to get to binding the 3 layers in the next month. Have a great evening! lovely blog you have!

Now this is fun! The book for a toddler, and the glimpse of your sewing/craft room. When my current remodel is complete, I will have a place of my own in a "back corner" of the house where I can have all my sewing and craft things spread out as untidily as necessary as long as I want! I hope it ends up looking so warm and homey and colorful as the pictures you've shared.

Oh wow!. I love the cable pattern. Concentration must be the key. Lovely coloured yarn too. It is going to look amazing when finished. Interesting books too. I've not read crime for a while and don't know the author. Another to look out for.
