Last weekend began a Mission Conference held at our church which continued through the week.
Our family was able to host a missionary couple who have served in Africa for twenty years. We were so busy the week before getting everything ready for their arrival, but it was such a wonderful experience to have this couple gracing our home. They had such interesting stories to tell. They literally became a part of our family, as Charlotte can well attest as she packed her bags with full intentions of going home with them on Thursday morning.
And there were special weddings to attend too. On Saturday evening we were able to witness a very good friend of ours perform the marriage ceremony of his second daughter. I especially appreciated how every aspect of her personality was woven into everything from the music to the pistachio wedding cake. This was the little girl that had a crush on my son when she was about eleven years old and they have remained such good friends through the years. I am so very fond of her.

Looks like fun times shared with old and new friends!
How wonderful to get to host them in your home. I'm always a little jealous of the people who get to have them stay because you know they are getting to hear all the good stories and not just the ones they tell at church! I've been away from blogging too for a week or so and read back and saw you were taking up watercolor. Would love to see what you come up with!
It sounds like you are very busy these days, too!
How great that you were able to host your missionaries in your lovely home.
Thank you for your sweet comments on our home. We've had a couple look at it, and fell in love with it, but they also have a house to sell. My hubby is driving a good distance for work now, so we'd love to move soon.
I hope you and your sweet family have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Karen
I love listening to missionary stories. Such a different life living overseas and living among the people of that culture.
What a beautiful photo of your daughters with the bride!
Blessings!
