June Sweetness
Happy June! The month with the longest days and the kindest weather. A month of anniversaries (mine), fresh herbs in abundance, the reading of books aplenty, eating al fresco, and catching fireflies.
Lighter schedules are certainly needed, made and adjusted but summer sweetness rolls along merrily filling us with hours of extra goodness.
The lavender is heavenly and the harvesting has begun. The friendly bees buzz around me as I snip the stems, my mouth waters with the thoughts of lavender honey.
I love the month of June....forever and always.

You must have a lot of lavender. I've tried to winter it over and it always dies.
Lavender honey sounds delicious. Is that something you add to honey yourself or are you talking about the bees making honey from lavender blossoms?
My hubby and I really like buckwheat honey, it is super dark and rich.
Every year another tiny lavender plant is added beside my other lavender plants. Our southern winters are mild enough so they will continue to get bigger and bigger each year.
Bees feasting on lavender blooms actually make lavender honey. But you have given me a wonderful idea I have not thought about...lacing the honey with lavender blooms. Oh, thank you!!!!!
Mm, that first photo reminds me of lavender lemonade, one of my favorites.
