the snow that came

It is not every year that we get such a snow

So when we do, we stop everything and go outside and enjoy it as any sensible one would do.

Or I should say, as a Southerner would.

I love the winter season especially when snow is in the package!  Actually, one of the distinct things on my bucket list is to spend a winter in a place where snow and wintry weather is common place. This post should have been done last week if I was up to date, but the snow came, we played, then before we knew it, Charlotte and I were packing and heading out the door for a Dance Festival held at the School of the Arts for the weekend.

What marvellous fun - for all the family! Our children would love to see snow. Master J saw a light dusting of snow one morning at uni/college on the tablelands last year, nearly three hours away.

It is a nice thick bit of snow you got! Very beautiful. Am I remembering correctly that you are in NC? And Charlotte has a sled. I saw someone here using an upside down card table as a sled with legs extended, I guess for holding on to.

It was beautiful, wasn't it? But now I am ready for spring. I'm taking down my decorations in hopes. A blessed weekend to you!

'As a Southerner would'...made me laugh. We're in Tennessee, and this was our first snow in ages and ages. Just began to melt today, which we're all fine with. Trouble is, we don't have the boots for it and the kids end up putting plastic bags on their shoes. It works, but lacks a bit in style. :)
